Garbage/Solid Waste Pickup

Garbage and recycling services for Williamsburg are provided through ABC Disposal.

A 64 gallon cart for bagged garbage and a 64 gallon cart for co-mingled recycling is provided by the the City. Both garbage and recycling will be picked up weekly at the curb. Cardboard must be broken down and placed into the cart.

A different size recycling cart can be requested by contacting city hall.

Any bags of garbage that do not fit into the cart can be taken if a tag is purchased ($0.50) and placed on the bag. Any large excessive cardboard can be taken with large items, if it is placed on the large item list at city hall. There is no longer a cardboard dumpster at the compost site. Large items will be taken bi-weekly for free and appliances will be picked up on the first Wednesday of each month for $25. These items will need to be reported to city hall by 3:30 pm the day prior to pick up.

Please space the recycling and garbage carts 4 feet apart when placing them out for collection.

Yard Waste

The City of Williamsburg enforces a NO BURNING law. Therefore the Public Works Department has set a Spring & Fall Yard Waste/Leaf Pick-up on the following dates:

Spring Clean-up is scheduled for the month of April. Leaves must be bagged, not raked to the curb.

Fall Clean-up (leaf collection) runs October 31st – November 18th 12:00 pm. At that time we ask that you bag your leaves in compostable bags. Only compostable bags can be used for leaf pick up and only compostable bags can be left at the compost site.

The City of Williamsburg Public Works Department can be reached at any time with questions or concerns by calling 319-330-8638.
